　・１．Dual Mono-Filament Construction
　　　　The World-renowned performance of Nordost's Valhalla is based on the combination of 
　　　Mono-Filament spiral spacing and extruded Teflon insulation, a unique construction that 
　　　creates a virtual air dielectric. For Odin, Nordost's engineers have taken this process a stage 
　　　further, first twisting two FEP Mono-Filaments together, before winding them in an open spiral 
　　　around each solid-core conductor. It sounds simple, but demands dramatically higher 
　　　production tolerances if such complex, multiple cable constructions are to be successfully 
　　　manufactured. However, the results are a significant reduction in conductor contact area and 
　　　far greater geometrical consistency, especially when cables are bent. First used in the Valhalla 
　　　power cord and Tyr interconnect, Odin employs Dual Mono-Filaments in conductor's in 
　　　optimized arrays throughout the range.
　・２．Total Signal Control (TSC) Shielding
　　　　Odin interconnects also employ a revolutionary new shielding technique, developed to match 
　　　the theoretical performance of solid copper pipes without the resultant problems of inflexibility 
　　　that such rigid structures impose. Each of the eight conductors in an Odin interconnect is 
　　　individually shielded using this Nordost developed technology which minimizes both signal

　　大場商事の試聴室で行われたdCS Scarlatti製品発表会の写真レポートです。
　　　製品自体については様々な試聴をしてみないと正確に把握することはできませんが、今回の発
　　表会で一聴して感じたのは、音の立ち上がりの素晴らしさです。おそらく、elgar、verdi等と比べて一
　　番違いはここなのではないかと思います。音が全く迷うことなくスパッと立ち上がる感覚は今まで
　　どの製品（dCSに限らず）でも感じなかった卓越したレベルだと思います。
　　　最近、なかなかこれというトランスポート・ＤＡＣがありませんでしたが、その唯一の存在に成り得
　　る可能性を持った製品だと思います。

　PassLabs、米国内、ディーラーを一新し再スタートへ。
　　PassLabsは、Joe Sammutを販売責任者として会社に迎え入れ、米国内のディーラーの一新を発
　表しました。ここ数年、Passでは米国外の業績依存度が高まり、米国内での業績は不振に陥ってい
　たようで、その原因がネットや通販による安売りにあると判断、これからは、適切なデモやサービス
　ができるディーラーにのみ商品を出荷する方針に変更したとのこと。そこで、今までのディーラーとの
　契約を打ち切り、新たにディーラーを募集し、その中から１９のディーラーが選ばれたとのことです。
　　これに伴い、商品の販売数が減少することが考えられますが、イメージ改善等の宣伝を強力に行
　うとともに、サービスの充実などを行ってそれをカバーしていくようです。

　　　KEF has teamed up with leading designer Ross Lovegrove to build its 'best ever' loudspeaker. The £70,000 Muon 
　　will be limited to 100 pairs when it goes on sale in mid-2007.
　　　"We wanted to take our technology to the limit and then develop it further," says KEF's senior acoustic engineer, 
　　Andrew Watson.
　　　The most notable feature of the speakers is their unusual shape - designed to prevent unwanted resonances 
　　inside the speaker cabinet from ruining the sound. The cabinet designed has been achieved by using sheets of 
　　super-formed aluminium. These are able to assume almost any shape, says KEF.
　　　Each KEF Muon loudspeaker comprises a four-way Uni-Q speaker system, with two rear-firing bass drivers to

　　　最近、新製品の話題に乏しいので、avcat管理人が最近出合った魅力的な商品を紹介してみた
　　いと思います。（と言っても、まだあまり紹介されていない商品で、本当に魅力的なものに出会うこと
　　は少ないので、紹介はこの商品のみで終ってしまいそうですがｗ）

　　　その商品は、FURUTECHの壁コンセントカバー「102-D/102-S」で、ステンレスにfo.Q制振シート
　　が貼られた構造をしております。

　　　fo.Qの制振シートの特徴とステンレスの特徴が上手く調和しており、高解像度の中で、ナチュラル
　　な高域、中域の絶妙なニュアンス、低域の締まりといった両立しにくい要素をうまくバランスさせた
　　音づくりが見事だと思います。

　　　fo.Qの制振シートは全般的に、響きが抑制される傾向が強いため、低域の解像度と締まり、立
　　体的表現力は、非常に優秀ですが、その一方で高域側の音は吸われすぎてしまうという傾向があ
　　ります。一方、ステンレスは、解像度が高く、適度な音の重さやバランスを持つものの、高域に独特
　　の華やかな響きがあり（アルミ合金程の高域の癖はありませんが）、さらに低域の音像が若干ボケ
　　る傾向があります。この両者の傾向が上手くマッチしたといえます。

　　　値段も定価2730円（実売2000円ぐらい）と壁コンカバーの中では比較的安めなのも魅力です。
　　　（2000円なら、試しに買って、仮にダメでもあきらめられる範囲？）

　　　具体的商品名をあげることは避けますが、他にも、低価格（アルミ、真鍮、ステン、クロムメッキ、
　　ステンレスクライオ等）から高価格（アルミ合金系、ポリマー系、カーボン系等）のものまで、様々な
　　壁コンセントカバーを試しましたが、心底、納得できる商品は見つけられませんでした。

　　＊なお、使用するネジの種類、ネジのトルク、設置の状況等で音質は敏感に変化するもので相性
　　　等ありますので、たまたま我が家だけマッチした等も考えられます。その点はご理解ください。

　　avcatでは既に、発売予定を速報済みですが、この度、その販売概要が発表されています。
　　生産台数は全部で10ペア程度。ハンドメード。
　　フェラーリより高額を予定。（2500の2.5倍から3倍超・$300,000は超える予定。）
　　１台ごと、購入者が所有するスピーカーに最適化させる。
　　＜仕様＞
　　　   power: 5000W @ 2 ohms 2500W @ 4 ohms 1250W @ 8 ohms
　・ Distorsion independent from frequency (no distortion rise in high frequency) et independent from Output Power.
　・ Capability to limit the Output Power depending on the connected Speaker with independantly adjustable limit for 
　　instantaneous and average without limiting the amplifier dynamic capability (this is why an amp with "too much 
　　power" is needed). The amp shuts off the output if the power is above, with a capability to measure the output 
　　current, output voltage and power (analogue calculator).
　　　＜新技術＞
　・ The Amp is made of 2 amps connected in symmetrical bridging (new Goldmund schematics) but with a common 
　　power supply to avoid dynamic losses. The bridge mode is needed to lower the power rail voltages to optimize 
　　performances of the output stages.
　・ Goldmund Cascode Output stage. -> To lower non-linearities proportional to voltage applied on output transistors. 
　　Using HF Op-amps (GBW > 300MHz) to adjust Bias of the cascode stage with local feedback, in order to increase 
　　linearity of the output stage without increasing global Feedback.
　・ Goldmund New Class A : The Output devices are never OFF but chnage from Followers to Current Sources -> 
　　Dramatic lowering of the output stage distortion depending on Power and Output Current. Cancellation of the 
　　Switchoff distortion and near cancellation of the crossover distortion. Adjustmant of bias and current in the 
　　"Current Source" mode independantly, allowing optimization of the output stage to literally remove intermodulation 
　　and harmonic distortion. Using ultra-stable voltage references with ultra-low noise as well as network of ultra-fast 
　　diodes associated with High Freaquency Op-amps to adjust the Bias.
　・ Driver stage based on High-Frequency Operational amplifiers (GBW > 300MHz), allowing a complete isolation of the 
 　Output stage from the Gain stage. Increase of the global bandwidth and improvement of stability. Complete 
　　insensitivity of the Input stage from variation of Power, Local Feedback increasing linearity without using large global 
　　feedback.
　・ Multiplication of output transistors (80 output devices per amplifier) to further minimize non-linearities in the 
　　Output stage. This is made possible thanks to the new driver stage. It was impossible before without taking out too 
　　much current on the input stage, producing a global degradation.
　・ Floating Power Supply for the Driver stage and the cascode stage polarization, depending of output voltage -> 
　　Allows to use HF op-amps ultra-linear who cannot afford too high voltage power supply.
　・ Optimization of input circuitry ausing stabilized current sources with ultra-low noise.
　・ Power-suply shutdown protection circuit as in the Telos 600, ultra-fast, using NMOS transistors.
　・ Main Power supply using 20 x 10’000uF 100V capacitors, made by Epcos in their new 106 Series with ultra-low 
　　serial impednace < 0.5 milli-ohm. Using also multiple capacitors very close from output devices and mixing Epcos 
　　106 and Wima polypropylene MKP10 series. Main Transformer bloc with de 10 x transformer 500VA for the Main 
　　Voltage
　・ High Voltage stabilized Power supply for the entry stage with double regulation and using ultra-low noise voltage 
　　references. Separate transformers.
　・ Alize 6 with double dynamics new Goldmund D/A circuitry.

　　度重なる延期の末、ついにMonitorAudioのフラグシップスピーカー「Platinum」シリーズ登場。
　　当初はベリリウムツイーターの搭載が噂されていましたが、リボンツイーターになったようです。

　　　・Platinum 100
　　　　　The PL100 is a compact two-way loudspeaker featuring one 6.5-inch RDT bass-mid driver and a C-CAM 
　　　　　　ribbon tweeter. The PL100 produces superior bass definition and articulate mid-range akin to the most 
　　　　　　accurate studio monitors. The extraordinary PL100 has the ability to reach bass frequencies previously 
　　　　　　unattainable in such a diminutive package. PL100 dimensions: 14¾ x 8 x 11½ inches (HxWxD)
　　　　　　　Optional, dedicated floor stands are available which can be bolted directly to the PL100 cabinet for 
　　　　　　increased stability and performance. The PL100 stand allows an increased level of tilt to enable optimum set   
　　　　　　up and positioning. The PL100 Stand is 24-inches tall.

　　　　　The PL300 is a three-way floor-standing loudspeaker featuring two 8-inch RDT bass drivers, one 4” RDT

 　　　　　to cover an astonishing frequency spectrum from 28Hz—100 KHz.
　　　　　　The RDT mid-range driver is dedicated to producing frequencies between 550Hz and 4 KHz with extreme 
　　　　　ease and clarity, thanks to its ultra-light RDT cone. A special, bullet-shaped ARC mid-range enclosure provides

　　　　　The PL350C is a 3-way, four-driver center channel speaker featuring the same driver compliment as the

　　　　　32Hz—100 KHz, making it one of the widest bandwidth center speakers available. Like the PL300, 
　　　　　the PL350C’s RDT mid-range driver operates in its own ARC mid-range enclosure. Neutral tonal balance and
