　　Moving Air has conquered the quest for fast, yet 100% screened power cable. Where braided
　screens are used, screen cover is usually around 80-90% due to gaps in the braid. Also, the metal
　increases cable capacitance significantly, which slows the cable down.
　　Moving Air developed a heavily loaded carbon jacket that works in conjunction with a drain wire
　to screen the power chord. Not only does this mean 100% coverage, it also means capacitance is
　kept to a minimum, keeping it fast and able to service the transients and details in music faithfully

　　The SSP-800 is a ten-channel preamp/processor, offering both balanced and single-ended connections for all channels. Audio Digital 
Signal Processing
　　(DSP) is handled by a Texas Instruments-based platform, which operates in 64-bit double precision. It uses floating point arithmetic for all audio signal
　　calculations to ensure the most accurate results possible.
　　　All bass management filters, level adjustments and parametric filters also benefit from the added precision. To ensure the SSP-800 retains its value and
　　competitive edge, the Classé Design Team has designed the DSP onto a replaceable module to accommodate a planned future upgrade.
　　　Superior audio performance is achieved by combining powerful DSP with balanced topologies, advanced component parts and meticulous circuit layout. A
　　dedicated linear power supply using a low-noise toroidal transformer powers the analog audio circuits. Digital and control circuits are powered by their own
　　dual-output, low-noise, high-current switching supply.
　　　High quality digital-to-analog converters and output stage components are configured to ensure exceptional dynamic range and resolution. Audio circuits
　　are isolated from video and control circuits by optocouplers and low voltage differential signal (LVDS) pathways. Digital and analog circuits and grounds are
　　isolated from each other among and within circuit boards.
　　　Throughout the SSP-800 there are examples of HD technology executed at the highest quality level. It is the combination of advanced technology and
　　genuine quality sets the SSP-800 apart. And while technology and quality give the SSP-800 its intrinsic value, we measure its true worth first on the test
　　bench and then in the sound room.
　　・Music First
　　　Music listening remains the most reliable method of judging sound quality. In fact, no surround processor can accurately reproduce movie sound if it fails to
　　reproduce music properly. At Classé, our first priority is developing components that perform exceptionally well with music. We then turn our attention to
　　processor decoding capabilities and developing features that enhance flexibility and in-room performance.
　　　With musical performance as its benchmark, the SSP-800 was conceived as a high-performance multichannel preamplifier. For two-channel listening both
　　balanced and single-ended analog sources may bypass all analog-to-digital, DSP and digital-to-analog stages. Alternatively, the full range of processing
　　capabilities including bass management and parametric equalization is available for both analog and digital sources.
　　　The SSP-800 changes the game by doing what no preamp/processor has done before: it performs as well with music as a dedicated stereo DAC and
　　preamplifier. The secret of its breathtaking performance lies not in some new parts or special features, although it has many. What sets the SSP-800 apart
　　is the depth of experience never before brought to bear on a multichannel design.
　　・Analog to Digital
　　　Modern source components are increasingly optimized for use with digital interconnections and the SSP-800 capitalizes on this trend. Older surround
　　processors are typically equipped with a vast array of analog inputs. These have been minimized in the SSP-800 and largely replaced by digital connectors.
　　Four HDMI 1.3a (High Definition Multimedia Interface) inputs for audio/video sources are supplemented by standard SPDIF (coax) and EIAJ (optical) digital
　　inputs for audio.
　　　HDMI is the connection standard adopted for high definition A/V sources. An HDMI cable may carry 1080p HD video signals and uncompressed multichannel
　　LPCM digital audio as well as the latest HD audio codecs (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio) and certain control signals. Several versions of HDMI
　　have been introduced, each surpassing the other in bandwidth and support for additional features. While the hardware used to transmit and receive on HDMI
　　may be labeled by its version number (the SSP-800 uses version 1.3a for all HDMI inputs and outputs), there will be differences among products’ actual
　　capabilities.
　　　The SSP-800 uses HDMI 1.3a primarily to support the component’s long life in an evolving market. As new sources emerge, the SSP-800 offers the
　　potential for transferring more information into and through its circuitry. For example, the video signal path supports 36-bit Deep Color video, even though
　　Blu-ray Discs are only 24-bit video sources. In general, the bandwidth of components and circuitry in the SSP-800 is sufficient to accommodate all current
　　and proposed next-generation sources.
　　・Touchscreen Control and More
　　　Classé Delta series components were the first A/V products to offer touchscreen control. Since then, touchscreen control has become an integral benefit
　　for other consumer electronics products. Touchscreen control is more reliable and infinitely more flexible than the older style controls using push-buttons
　　with fixed-segment displays.
　　　The SSP-800 is custom installation friendly. It is equipped with bi-directional RS-232 control and status, rear panel IR, front panel IR transmitter/receiver,
　　CAN BUS and DC triggers.
　　　Video sources of all HDTV resolutions including 1080p are available for viewing on the touchscreen. On Screen Display (OSD) messages can be overlaid on
　　all video signals. Older analog video sources are converted to digital and made available on the HDMI outputs. For displays lacking digital video connections,
　　a component video output is available for analog video sources.
　　・Real World Applications
　　　In addition to quality and technology, the SSP-800 has flexibility built in. Its ten-channel design creates the possibility of configuring two channels for
　　additional subwoofers or as mirrors of the front left and right channels for bi-amplifying the front left and right speakers. Alternatively, these two channels
　　may be devoted to delivering audio to a separate room or system, with source selection shared with the main theater and either fixed or variable output.
　　　Five-band parametric equalization is provided for each of the ten channels to help tune the system to its environment. Classé has elected to offer the
　　system EQ as a manual feature. While several automated systems are available on the market, the complexity of room acoustics guarantees that no
　　automatic system can achieve consistent, optimum results. Our experience is that the best results are obtained by combining measurements with human
　　judgment. The filters used in the EQ are rendered accurately by our processor, which uses floating point arithmetic operating in 64-bit double-precision.
　　　The wealth of knowledge applied to the SSP-800 design and the inspiration for its execution do not come from a textbook—they come from the passion
　　and dedication of those who have spent their lives in the pursuit of higher performance. Classé offers the SSP-800—the definitive preamp/processor—for

　・No502 Media Console
　　　Modern home entertainment systems are comprised of an assortment of components; however, it’s the media console that defines the 
　　boundaries of the systems’ overall potential. It is responsible for accomplishing many different critical functions and has a direct influence on 
　　everything from the picture on the screen to the sound that emanates from all of the speakers. From the precisely machined aluminum 
　　surfaces of the chassis to the elegant backlit engraved glass logo embedded in the front panel, the No. 502 is a modern interpretation of the 
　　Mark Levinson aesthetic, but that is only the beginning.
　・The Sound
　　　Mark Levinson products have always been highly regarded for their sound quality and the No502 is no exception. Towards that end, every 
　　part of the audio path from the input to output was carefully considered and designed to ensure optimal sound quality. Starting with the 
　　chassis, it was designed to double as an integrated Radio Frequency (RF) shield providing immunity from the RF emissions that are commonly 
　　radiated by other devices. These emissions are a common source of noise that can find its way into the sensitive audio circuits and degrade 
　　sound quality. Another way for noise to enter a system is through the input and output connectors which are usually connected directly to 
　　the chassis, providing a direct path for noise to get in. To prevent this from occurring on the No502, the input and output connectors are 
　　physically isolated from the chassis. Inside the chassis, the No502 utilizes two AC power transformers to completely isolate the digital and 
　　analog signal paths. A digital power transformer is used to power the digital circuits, and a toroidal power transformer is used to power the 
　　analog circuits. In addition, both power supplies are carefully shielded in a chamber inside the chassis to further prevent transformer noise 
　　from leaking into the delicate analog circuits and degrading sound quality. Another method employed to reduce noise is the use of 18-layer 
　　circuit boards with minimal surface etches. They help to lower radiated emissions from inside the chassis. We also isolate the control signals 
　　from the audio signals to ensure that they do not interfere with them. In the event that any common mode noise is present inside the 
　　system, all of the analog audio signals are routed inside the chassis as differential (balanced) signals, to cancel this noise out. To reduce jitter 
　　and digital noise, a specially designed low voltage differential signaling circuit is utilized. A proprietary direct digital synthesizer frequency lock 
　　loop controls the audio master clock resulting in extraordinary jitter performance. This closed loop control algorithm improves bandwidth and 
　　resolution. Great care was also taken in the implementation of the level controls for the No502 which offer an adjustment range of 120db, 
　　preserving the full resolution of the signal. Fewer passive components were employed to reduce noise and distortion, and digital quantization 
　　noise is exceptionally low, even at the lowest volume settings. This ensures that the level controls do not significantly degrade the sound of 
　　the audio passing through them, common in many other less rigorous designs. The No502 features Harman International’s proprietary Logic 7
　　technology in addition to the standard suite of Dolby and dts listening modes. Logic 7 is widely regarded in the industry as the best 
　　surround-sound process available. In simple terms, Logic 7 works by utilizing a unique algorithm that engages all of the speakers in a system to 
　　enhance the realism of the sound. By analyzing the spatial cues included in the original sound, Logic 7 presents them in a manner that makes 
　　the overall experience much more engaging and enveloping. Another important detail is the No502’s bass management system which utilizes 
　　phase-matched signal paths to prevent signal cancellation. Whenever two signals are combined, as occurs in all bass management systems, 
　　the potential for signal cancellation increases which will significantly alter the sound. By phase matching the signal path, the No502 ensures 
　　that you hear every detail, the way it was intended, regardless of the speaker configuration.
　・The Picture
　　　Although Mark Levinson products are known for their superlative sound quality, the No502 also establishes a new benchmark for picture 
　　quality. In addition to providing an array of analog and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) inputs and outputs, the No502 also
　　 includes a state-of-the-art video processor that can convert all of the inputs into a single output and scale them to the optimum resolution 
　　for driving the display device. This simplifies the overall system configuration while providing the absolute best picture quality possible. To clean 
　　up and sharpen compressed images from sources such as standard DVD and satellite/cable TV broadcasts, the No502 includes advanced 
　　noise reduction and detail enhancement. Combined with the built-in scaler, standard definition sources look like true high definition sources. 
　　The No502 also includes motion adaptive video de-interlacing with edge interpolation for improving both standard definition and high-definition 
　　sources. And for the highest quality video sources currently available today, the No502 readily handles 1080P/24Hz video inputs and outputs
　　with ease. The No502 features an impressive six HDMI inputs, each with its own receiver to deliver exceptionally fast HDMI switching and the 
　　ability to “preview” one HDMI input while watching another. It also features two HDMI outputs, so it can alternately drive two different displays.
　　Combined with the impressive video processing capabilities, the No502 sets a new standard for picture quality, even when compared to 
　　dedicated, stand-alone video processors.
　・The Experience
　　Perhaps the most unexpected aspect of the No502 is the impressive Graphical User Interface (GUI). Utilizing a separate graphics engine with 
　　bit-accurate graphics for all output resolutions, setting up and using the No502 is an absolute joy. Set-up can be accomplished by using the 
　　remote control and the screen in the theater, or, by using the buttons and the screen on the front panel. The GUI on both is the same, so if 
　　you can’t access the screen in the theater for whatever reason, you can still use the front panel and benefit from the same beautiful GUI. 
　　This is essential for systems where the No502 is located out of sight from the screen in the theater. It also facilitates easier configuration of 
　　other components connected to the No502 that also utilize on-screen menus for set-up. The hierarchal structure of the menus makes it 
　　easy to navigate and to further simplify its use. Each screen displays a menu path, ensuring that you know where you are in the menu system 
　　at all times. Controls are duplicated on both the remote control and the front panel, so access is convenient whether the No502 is within 
　　reach or out of sight. All custom setup features are stored, and the custom configuration can even be saved to a personal computer through 
　　an Ethernet port for additional peace of mind. The No502 is equipped with a state-of-the-art auto calibration system that accurately 
　　calculates speaker distances, output levels and full room equalization in less than ten minutes. Automatic calibration is available for every 
　　speaker configuration and improves sound quality by removing the interference of sound reflections that are caused by the room itself. These 
　　reflections, or room modes, can be detrimental to your listening experience by making the sound appear too loud or too soft at various 
　　frequencies and cause lingering resonances which mask the finer details in the sound. The No502 room equalization effectively eliminates 
　　these room modes and makes the entire system, including the room itself, sound more neutral and true to the original recording. Once 
　　set-up, the No502 is a breeze to use. Day-to-day controls are kept separate from set-up controls and all you need do is select an activity 
　　such as; “Watch a film,” “Listen to music,” or “Watch TV” and adjust the volume. Each activity automatically loads a speaker configuration, 
　　an audio profile and a video profile. This allows the No502 to essentially reconfigure itself automatically to provide the desired listening and 
　　viewing experience for each and every activity. Control of the No502 is accomplished in a number of different ways. There is the backlit, metal 
　　remote control, which feels both substantial and elegant in your hand and was designed with a minimal amount of buttons to make it easy to 
　　use. There are the front panel controls for when you are within reach of the No502. But perhaps the most extensive way to control the 
　　No502 is by utilizing its RS-232 port in conjunction with a third party controller, such as those available from Crestron or AMX. This allows 
　　true two-way control of the No502 and if the control system also has video input capability, the ability to send the picture that is normally 
　　displayed on the front panel of the No502 directly into the control system. This puts the GUI of the No502 and the preview feature right into 
　　the touch-screen controller itself, allowing these features to be used wherever the controller is. In addition, the No502 includes a 
　　proprietary Mark Levinson protocol called ML Net which utilizes Ethernet to provide additional functions when other ML Net equipped devices 
　　are connected to the No502.

　　　The No502 is a remarkably powerful and flexible media console for the ultimate home entertainment system and is designed in every detail to

　　・LP turntable for 33rpm and 45 rpm:
　　　- Analog turntable is a really sensible equipment to vibration. For this reason, to have the best performance, 
　　　　　we decided of using advanced and particular technical solutions. Starting from project to choosing the right 
　　　　　materials, every small details was done in the best way to have an amazing sound performance. Aluminium
　　　　　part connecting base to preamplifier are with special shape and with anti-vibration treatment, the plate is
　　　　　done in special material and with a surface to have the best contact with LP, thanks also to the sharpless
　　　　　ends clamp to avoid bad resonance in Nyquist’s range.
　　　- The hinge we decided to project is one of the few in the world that uses magnetic suspension to separate the 
　　　　　turntable’s plate from the main base. The hinge is done in hardened steel to prevent damage due to the 
　　　　　friction with ear-ring. These two parts require the best and maximum mechanical precision. Lubricating
　　　　　is composed by Teflon and lithium to reduce at minimum dynamic friction to permit electric conductivity to 
　　　　　discharge electrostatic tension.
　　　- Rotation is given to the plate by the electric engine with rubber belt, insulated from turntable’s chassis and 
　　　　　realized with 4 small synchronized engines in parallel configuration to increase torque and precision of
　　　　　rotating speed and it’s possible rotating speed from 33rpm to 45rpm changing position of the belt on the

　A&VフェスタBest Sound：　TADラボ試聴ブース
　　今回のA&Vフェスタ、規模も小さくなり、物足りなさを覚えた方も多かったのではないかと思います。ただ、個人的にはここ
　　数年ぶりにオーディオショウで心底良かったという音に出会えましたので、感想を少し。
　　　そう思わせてくれたのは「TAD」の試聴ブース。2004インターナショナルオーディオショウ、日本初デビューを飾った、YG 
　　AcousticsのAnatReferenceの音、2006年ダイナマラソン試聴会のAVALON ISIS＋GOLDMUND Telos2500・
　　Mimesis24Me・EidosReferenceの音以来です。（あくまでもオーディオショウの中での話です。）
　　　TAD-R1といえば、ayreの代表CharlesHansen氏がその音を大絶賛し、ayre社の試聴室に導入したことで話題になりまし
　　た（avcat 2007年9月3日のニュース参照）。その流れからCES2008のAyreブースでTAD-R1が使用され、逆にTADのブー
　　スではMX-Rが使用されることとなり、そして今回のA&Vフェスタでは、AyreのK-1xeがプリアンプに使用されています。パ
　　ワーはTADの新モノラルアンプ。
　　　TAD-R1の音を今まで何度も聴いてきましたが、今回のA&Vフェスタでの音はその中でもスバ抜けて良かったと思います
　　し、「これぞ、TAD-R1が目指したであろう音」だったと思います。ayreとの相性がいいのか、新モノラルアンプが優秀なの
　　か、もちろんその他の要因も含めて総合的なものだとは思いますが、TAD-M1のユーザーとしては非常に刺激になりまし
　　た。（M1で普段聞きなれている傾向の音ではあるので、個人的に安心して聴けたということもあると思います。）　　
　　　実際にどういう音だったのかは・・・聴いた人の楽しみということで・・・。

C-03内部

　　・　The input stage of the C-03 features a high quality discrete buffer circuit. The output stage
　　　 features a fully discrete output buffer circuit driven by high power voltage (+/- 38V), 
　　　providing maximum clarity and very high linearity. The output buffer circuit is coupled with a
　　　large capacitor (4,700μ/ ch.), to further support high voltage output.
　　・　The C-03 features a high quality, digitally-controlled, analog volume IC for each channel. 
　　　The volume control, channel balance control, and gain compensation between each input 
　　　source, are aggregated to this IC. There is no equalizer, record out circuit or other control 
　　　circuit existing within the signal path.
　　・　The C-03 has 5 line level input selections (RCA x3, XLR x2). During line level operation,
　　　unused inputs are completely disconnected from the circuit. This eliminates electrical noise
　　　 generated by having unused inputs active. Based on variations in system requirements, 
　　　an XLR phase invert function (input only), is included. There are 2, RCA output lines
　　　for bi-amp configuration and 1, XLR output line. The C-03 allows 3 user selectable 
　　　output modes; RCA, XLR or RCA/XLR.
　　・　The inner chassis is enclosed by a thick steel compartment, equipped with separate 
　　　chamber for ultimate rigidity, isolation against vibration and enhanced resonance control. 
　　　The inner chassis is covered by thick aluminum panels and supported by a 5 mm thick 
　　　steel bottom chassis including three pinpoint isolation feet made of quenched steel
　　　 (Patent pending). The approx. 22.5 kg (49.6 lbs), high mass design provides
　　　a highly rigid, stable, low noise, and non-resonant chassis.

　　・Re-design of the internal layout of the player. Included in the re-design is the addition of more 
　　copper for shielding and protection of the circuits. There are also many upgrades in source 
　　components.
　　・Re-design of the Servo PCB including upgrades of certain source components.
